Our Patron: Sir John Archibald Sinclair, 3rd Viscount Thurso
Sir John Archibald Sinclair, 3rd Viscount Thurso, known as John Thurso MP, is the direct descendant of Sir John Sinclair of Ulbster.
He was educated in Thurso and at Eton, and was elected MP for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross at the General Election in June 2001.
EDINA and the Editorial Board of Statistical Accounts Online are delighted that Lord Thurso has agreed to become Patron of the Statistical Accounts of Scotland Online, the brainchild of his distinguished ancestor.
Lord Thurso comments:
"The Statistical Accounts are a gold mine of information and the work for which my 4 greats grandfather is best known. To have the Statistical Accounts Online provides a great opportunity to access this fascinating information and make it easily available to a wider audience. It is a great honour to be Patron and to maintain the family link."
