The implications of this project (and the related GEESE and GEMS projects) are of significance because:
- The use of the National Grid Service (NGS) would be significantly increased by the large number of users of EDINA services.
- Access to wider resources and collaboration facilities by EDINA users, whilst unknown until many more users have had exposure to the platform, could also be significant.
- Standards based works means close cooperation with Standards Defiining Organisation, thus having potentially international implications.
