

The PEPRS project, jointly led by EDINA with the ISSN International Centre, was funded to develop a registry service to provide easily accessible information about inclusion of journals in preservation services. Funding for the project was provided by the JISC until July 2012 (extended until September 2012). Funding for the continuation of the service and development activity is being sought.
In April 2011 the PEPRS Beta registry service was launched, and in October 2011 this service was renamed the Keepers Registry.
The Keepers Registry is available online at: thekeepers.org. The service Home page lists the agencies participating in the Keepers Registry.
The Keepers Registry blog.is used to keep users up-to-date with the development of the service and contains news of interest and service release notes.
4 October 2011: The Keepers Registry Beta service is formally launched at the meeting of the ISSN National Directors in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Hercogovina. The Keepers Registry replaces the PEPRS Beta service. Data from the HathiTrust has been added to the service. The Keepers Registry Beta service is available at: thekeepers.org
16 September 2011: Peter Burnhill and Françoise Pelle, (Co-directors of PEPRS) made a presentation on the PEPRS project and the Beta service registry to Janis Karklinš, Assistant Director General of Communication and Information (UNESCO) at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
28 April 2011: The PEPRS Beta service is launched formally at the meeting of the ISSN Governing Board held in Paris and the Board confirms its wholehearted and continuing support for the PEPRS project and the new service. The Beta service is available at: http://www.peprs.org
Week beginning 25 April 2011: (Published 18 March 2011) The PEPRS beta service will be launched during this week.
18 March 2011: The Roadmap has been updated to cover the period May 2010 – December 2011.
24 November 2010: Following consultation with librarians and preservation agencies throughout Spring and Summer 2010, the PEPRS project team have defined a set of requirements to be incorporated into the beta service implementation, scheduled for release at the beginning of 2011. 2 August 2010: (Published 14 September 2010) PEPRS is continuing into a second phase of development, running from August 2010 until December 2012. This second round of funding follows an external evaluation of the project carried out in February 2010. The recommendations from this evaluation have been incorporated into our proposal for further funding.

11 July 2010: (Published 14 September 2010) A roadmap highlighting key activities scheduled between May 2010 to December 2010 has been made available online. Phase 1 of the project is due to finish on 31 July 2010. An application for the funding of Phase 2 to run from 1 August 2010 to 31 December 2012 has been submitted to the JISC.
