Implications

• Promotion of the SWORD protocol within the UK HE repository community, both in terms of awareness, knowledge and adoption.
• OA-RJ broker will increase deposit rates for participating repositories. This effect will be directly measurable and will potentially be a key performance indictor.
• Researchers awareness and exposure to open access will increase. Traditionally HE institutions have pushed the open access . This project will allow participating research funders and publishers to engage directly with researchers in open access promoting activities.
• Publishers will work directly with HE institutions to promote open access. Open access has traditionally been an area of confrontation between publishers and libraries. This project will show that by working together open access can be a mutually beneficial activity.
• Simplifying the multi-deposit process participating will help research funding organisations to achieve a rise in mandate compliance.
