Service improvements
A Scholarly Communications website will be developed and will facilitate users’ access to the discovery services.
There will be a number of improvements to existing services. Both the Copac and SUNCAT services will link to Zetoc providing users with access to the Tables of Contents (TOCs) held on Zetoc. The possibility of linking to other TOC services will be investigated during the Project.
Additionally personalisation and profiling will be available on all three services thereby improving the relevance of the services to users.
Two new features will be implemented on Copac. A ‘My Local Library’ function will allow users to do a cross search and find out if an item is available at their local institution. A reusable marked list function will allow users to store and annotate selected records for use with personal bibliographies.
Finally users of the services will be able to progress from discovery on the services to access and delivery services including Interlibrary lending services and full text.
A number of components, including a Broker, will be developed to provide users of the discovery services with bridging to final access and delivery services.
