EDINA and Ovid Technologies have agreed a number of changes to their relationship. From 1 August 2005, the customer relationship for all subscribers to Ovid's CAB Abstracts, PAIS and EconLit databases will move from EDINA and will be directly with Ovid. This latest initiative follows the migration in 2004 of all databases from EDINA to an Ovid hosted server. Ovid will now handle all aspects of customer service including support and invoicing. The change will have no effect on the databases themselves or the price customers will pay for their subscription. Both EDINA and Ovid will work together to ensure a smooth transition for continuing subscribers.
" With the new arrangement we are aiming to simplify the administrative procedures for our customers" remarked Liz Davidson, Ovid's Customer Service Manager for Europe. " And at the same time we look forward to offering them the highest levels of customer focussed service."
The Ovid Technologies and EDINA partnership which began in 1998 has resulted in successful provision of service, customised to UK HE and FE needs. These moves to Ovid will maintain this level and provision of service.
Offered as part of the CHEST agreement, the Ovid-EDINA Inspec service will continue with EDINA offering support and administration of the service, and Ovid hosting the database on their network of servers.
